Right now, Oakland county is under a high wind advisory. These high winds can be destructive to your roof. So, with the hurricane backlash coming our way, Martino Companies wants to know, is your roof ready for high winds?
Is your roof clear of branches overhead?
Tree branches hanging above your roof may look nice on a clear day, but during high winds they’re a menace. It’s important to clear the branches near your roof so that high winds don’t send the branches into your roof.
Has your roof been inspected recently?
It’s recommended to have your roof inspected twice a year. This helps to identify any problems that need to be fixed before any storms come.
Is your attic in good condition (i.e. no holes or protruding nails)?
It’s important to inspect the inside of your attic as well. You’ll want to go into your attic and see if there are any holes. These holes could allow light and rain to come in. If there are holes and gaps, your roof deck might not be secure.
Are your shingles covered?
If you have a newer roof, is it insured? Most companies will back their shingles with a warranty or guarantee. Here at Martino Home Improvements, we use Owens Corning Shingles that come with a 20 year guarantee. If you feel that your roof may not be prepared for the high winds ahead, don’t hesitate to call Martino Home Improvements for an inspection and quote.
