Here is a roofing replacement we finished a few weeks back in Warren, Michigan. We did a full tear-off of the existing shingles, repaired any damage underneath, then installed Owens Corning Duration shingles in the Pacific Wave color.

We start by stripping off all of the old shingles. This lets us inspect the wood decking below for any damage, and replace the wood if we find any issues. Then we install an ice & water barrier to protect six feet around the edges and all of the valleys. Any remaining wood is covered with synthetic underlayment. Only then do we install the shingles.

We then installed Owens Corning Duration shingles, which come with one of the best warranties in the roofing industry. Starter shingles were used along the bottom and hip & ridge shingles were used along the hips and ridges.
